In the Darkshire Guard formation training is often a day cure. Something which is dull and boring but any guard who has experienced true action with the guard has become thankful of it. These formations can be instantly ordered and all guards need to know of them. Here is the main formations used in the Darkshire Guard.
Single Line: Where the guards line up horizontal to the person giving the order.
Double Line: Where the guards line up horizontal to the person giving the orders however with an added line behind.
Single Column: Where the guards line up verticly in front and facing the command (the person giving the order)
Double Column: Where the guards line up verticly front and facing command. However with another line to the side.
Arrow Formation: In the shape of an arrow head, heavy riot squad members in the tip followed tightly by General Squad members. Then finished off with scout members and medics to fill in the middle.
360: Is a circle either facing inwards or outwards. Where all guards tightly pack together covering each other.
Orders
During drill "inspection" often is requested. This is where the drill sergeant should ask for guards names. Guards MUST include their rank before their full name. During inspection guards must have correct uniform in perfect condition.
During drill or when formations are in use, orders may be requested. These may be...
Command Face: This means turn towards the person in charge of the drill (normally the person who calls it)
Break Ranks: Where you exit you're formation.
Double Time: Where you run to a certain objective or to forfill a order.
Forward March: March forward in formation.
Halt: Stop in you're formation.
About turn: Turn 180 degrees around.
These are all the orders you will need in order to aid you in becoming a well trained and battle ready guard. Good luck with the drillmasters..
